Falls

According to the National Institute on Aging, more than 1 in 4 people, age 65 years or older, fall each year. Knowing this, it is vitally important for long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home health care providers to try to prevent falls. With that said, all falls are not preventable. Falls can result from poor eyesight, poor balance, diabetes, heart disease, and dementia, among many other factors. Knowing that the residents, who long-term care facilities are serving, are vulnerable to falls requires common sense precautions that these facilities should undertake. If they fail to do so, and you or your loved one sustains an injury, they can be held accountable for those injuries and accompanying medical bills along with pain and suffering.

If you or a loved one have fallen and sustained injuries at a long-term care facility, please contact us to investigate whether the fall was preventable and, if so, you can hold the facility responsible for the injuries and damages you or your loved one has suffered.
