Malnutrition in the elderly occurs when someone does not have the proper amount of nutrients to function. Older individuals can suffer from malnutrition as a result of diabetes, cancer, or Alzheimer’s, among many other chronic factors. Older adults may be hospitalized or in long-term care centers, putting them at higher risk of malnutrition. Malnutrition can cause an increased risk of hospitalization, an increased risk of infections, lack of wound healing capabilities, and even death. It is for these reasons that long-term care facilities and hospitals need to be acutely aware of the threat of malnutrition in their elderly patients and residents. They must employ strategies to help older adults maintain a healthy diet. If they fail to do so, they should be held accountable.

We are here to investigate any claims regarding you or a loved one being malnourished because meal time strategies were not properly employed by a hospital or long-term care facility.
